Whigfield, born Sannie Charlotte Carlson on April 11, 1970, in Skælskør, Denmark, is a renowned pop-dance artist who gained international fame with her 1994 hit "Saturday Night." This single made history by debuting at number one on the UK singles chart, selling over a million copies, and earning a place in the Guinness Book of Records. Known for its catchy tune and accompanying dance routine, "Saturday Night" dethroned Wet Wet Wet's "Love is All Around" after a 15-week reign.
Whigfield's success continued with hits like "Another Day," "Think of You," and "Sexy Eyes," the latter reaching number one in Australia and achieving Platinum status. Her debut album, "Whigfield 1," went Gold and Platinum in various countries. Over her career, Whigfield released five studio albums and numerous hit singles, marking a significant presence in the pop-dance music scene.
Based in Italy during the 1990s, she collaborated with producer Larry Pignagnoli. Beyond performing, Sannie shifted focus to songwriting and producing for other artists, including collaborations with Grammy winner Benny Benassi.
