Waldemar Wojtal
Waldemar Romuald Wojtal, born on June 21, 1951, in Chodzież, Poland, is a distinguished pianist and music educator. He completed his piano studies at the State Music School in Gdańsk-Wrzeszcz in 1970 and graduated with honors from the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk in 1975, studying under the renowned pedagogue Zbigniew Śliwiński. Wojtal further honed his skills with Vlado Perlemuter and Suzanne Roche in Paris and attended master classes with György Sebök and Dieter Zechlin.

Wojtal has performed extensively in Poland and internationally, including in France, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Bulgaria, the USA, and Ukraine. Alongside his concert career, he has been a dedicated educator, teaching piano at the Academy of Music in Gdańsk since 1979 and at the Academy of Art in Szczecin from 2010 to 2016. Many of his students have won prestigious piano competitions.

He has served as a juror for national and international piano competitions and is the founder of the International Baltic Piano Competition. Wojtal has also been involved with the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and the Centre for Artistic Education in Poland.

Throughout his career, Wojtal has received numerous accolades, including the Golden Cross of Merit and the Medal for Merit to Culture "Gloria Artis." He has held significant academic positions, including Rector of the Gdańsk Music Academy and Head of the Piano Department. His contributions to music and education have been widely recognized, making him a prominent figure in the Polish music scene.
