Shrift
Shrift was a musical collaboration between Nina Miranda, known for her work with Smoke City, and Dennis Wheatley, a producer recognized for his contributions to the British electronic band Atlas. The duo combined acoustic and electronic elements to create a unique sound that drew comparisons to Portishead. Their debut album, "Lost in a Moment," released in 2006 under Six Degrees Records, showcased Miranda's versatile vocals, which seamlessly transitioned between English, Portuguese, and French, and Wheatley's cinematic production style. The album was noted for its atmospheric blend of fingerpicked guitars, string sections, and diverse percussion. Shrift's music was recorded in various unconventional spaces in London, influencing its distinctive sound. They also released the "Shrift Remixed EP" in 2007.
