R. F. Campo
Régis Campo, born on July 6, 1968, in Marseille, France, is a distinguished French composer known for his playful and colorful musical style. Campo studied composition with Georges Boeuf at the Conservatory of Marseille and continued his education at the Conservatoire de Paris under Alain Bancquart and Gérard Grisey, earning his first composition prize in 1995. He also studied with Edison Denisov, who praised him as "one of the most gifted of his generation."

Campo's compositions emphasize melodic invention and lively tempos, distinguishing him from the major aesthetic trends of the late 20th century. His extensive catalog includes over two hundred works across various genres, including orchestral, chamber, choral, vocal, and stage music. His music has been performed in Europe and in over thirty countries worldwide.

Throughout his career, Campo has received numerous accolades, such as the Gaudeamus Prize and the Dutilleux Prize in 1996, and the SACEM Young Composers Prize in 2005. He was also a resident at the Villa Medici from 1999 to 2001. Notable works include his orchestral piece "Lumen," premiered by the Berkeley Symphony Orchestra, and his opera "Quai ouest," which debuted at the Strasbourg Opera House in 2014.

Campo's music is published by Éditions Henry Lemoine and other notable publishers, and he remains an influential figure in contemporary classical music.
