Opus
Opus was an Austrian pop-rock band formed in 1973 in Graz, Austria. The group gained international fame with their 1985 hit single "Live Is Life," which topped charts in several countries, including Canada, and reached the Top 40 in the United States. The song became an anthem, particularly popular at sports events across Europe. Opus's lineup included Herwig Rüdisser on vocals, Ewald Pfleger on guitar and backing vocals, Kurt-Rene Plisnier on keyboards, and Günter Grasmuck on drums and percussion. Over the years, the band released several studio albums, including "Daydreams" (1980), "Eleven" (1981), and "Opus Magnum" (2020). Despite being largely considered a one-hit wonder internationally, Opus enjoyed success in German-speaking countries with other songs like "Flyin' High" and "Whiteland." The band disbanded in 2021 after a final performance in December of that year.
