Novosibirsk Chamber Orchestra
The Novosibirsk Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra, established in the early 1990s in Novosibirsk, Russia, is a prestigious ensemble known for its vibrant performances and innovative programming. The orchestra is composed of young, talented musicians who continue the rich traditions of the renowned Novosibirsk school of strings, which has produced acclaimed violinists such as Maxim Vengerov and Vadim Repin.

Under the leadership of Principal Conductor Alim Shakhmametiev, the orchestra is celebrated for its unconventional approach to musical interpretation and its high level of performance culture. The ensemble frequently presents new compositions, introducing audiences to works previously unheard in Novosibirsk and across Russia. Their programs often feature exotic instruments and aim to engage new audiences, particularly younger listeners, with the world's musical heritage.

The orchestra plays a pivotal role in Novosibirsk's international musical connections, actively participating in various international projects. Notable collaborations include the Year of German Culture in Russia (2004), Days of Swedish Music (2004), and the Year of Russian Culture in France (2010). They also participated in the Year of Russian Language in Germany (2014). The ensemble tours extensively, performing in countries such as Germany, France, Spain, The Netherlands, Austria, Belgium, Switzerland, and Italy.

The Novosibirsk Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra regularly releases recordings, with their CD "Tongues of Fire," conducted by Rainer Held, being recognized in the top 20 of the "Critics' Choice 2012" by the British magazine Gramophone. The orchestra's commitment to excellence and innovation has made it a beloved and integral part of Novosibirsk's cultural landscape.
