Mike d’Abo
Michael David d'Abo, born on March 1, 1944, in Betchworth, Surrey, England, is an accomplished English singer, songwriter, and musician. He is best known for his role as the lead vocalist of the band Manfred Mann from 1966 until their dissolution in 1969. During his tenure with Manfred Mann, d'Abo contributed to several UK top twenty hits, including "Semi-Detached, Suburban Mr. James," "Ha! Ha! Said the Clown," and the chart-topping "Mighty Quinn."

Before joining Manfred Mann, d'Abo was part of A Band of Angels, a group formed with fellow Harrow School alumni. Although the band did not achieve significant success, it helped d'Abo gain attention in the music industry. His songwriting prowess is evident in hits like "Handbags and Gladrags" and "Build Me Up Buttercup," the latter becoming a major success for The Foundations.

After Manfred Mann disbanded, d'Abo pursued a diverse career, recording solo albums, acting in the West End, and composing music for films and television, including the soundtrack for "There's A Girl In My Soup" and jingles like Cadbury's "Finger of Fudge." He also became a popular radio broadcaster with his show "Late Night West."

In addition to his solo endeavors, d'Abo has performed with The Manfreds and his own band, Mike d'Abo & His Mighty Quintet. He continues to be an influential figure in the music world, with a career that spans rock, pop, and folk genres. Michael d'Abo is also the father of actress Olivia d'Abo.
