Memo Rhein
Hanspeter "Memo" Rhein (born 11 July 1950 in Weil am Rhein ) is a German entrepreneur , music manager, producer and founder of the classical music label Cugate Classics.
After completing his apprenticeship as a radio and television technician, Hanspeter Rhein went to Munich to work and study at the same time. In 1976 he opened his first jazz bar, "Memoland". The "Memoland" is considered the birthplace of the Spider Murphy Gang , which he managed for three years, as well as later the Münchener Freiheit and Supercharge. Other projects in Munich included the co-founding of "Rockhouse", which integrated disabled people according to the motto "in a wheelchair to a rock concert". In 1981 he opened the theater and concert hall "Alabama", from which, in addition to rock concerts, the well-known youth program " Live from Alabama " was broadcast on television. At the IGA in Munich in 1983, he organized the live program with 900 concerts on 180 days. At the same time, he extended his reach to the GDR and organized concerts with Karat and the Puhdys . After reunification, he moved to Berlin with his wife and daughter and organized the privatization of VEB Deutsche Schallplatten . When the Potsdam record pressing plant was sold to Russia, he came into contact with Russian artists. He was involved in the construction of three studios in St. Petersburg, Russia, Tbilisi, Georgia, and Vilnius, Lithuania. By 1996, he had produced over 800 albums, which were distributed by Sony Classical , among others . His largest project was the project management of the renovation of the concert hall in the Tbilisi Cultural Center, which opened in 2010.
Since founding Cugate Ltd. in 2003, Memo Rhein has been working on tracking and tracing software for digital files. The company holds two worldwide patents on fingerprinting and watermarking methods for digital files.
