Loreen
Lorine Zineb Nora Talhaoui, professionally known as Loreen, was born on October 16, 1983, in Stockholm, Sweden, to Moroccan immigrant parents. Raised in Västerås, she considers it her hometown. Loreen first gained public attention in 2004 when she participated in the Swedish Idol competition, finishing in fourth place. In 2005, she released her first single, "The Snake," with Rob'n'Raz and worked as a television presenter.
Loreen's breakthrough came in 2011 when she competed in Melodifestivalen with the song "My Heart Is Refusing Me," which became a top 10 hit in Sweden. Her international acclaim was solidified in 2012 when she won the Eurovision Song Contest with "Euphoria," a song that achieved widespread success across Europe. In 2023, she made history by winning the Eurovision Song Contest again with "Tattoo," becoming the first woman to win the contest twice.
Known for her emotive and sophisticated music, Loreen has released albums such as "Heal" (2012) and "Ride" (2017). She is also recognized for her activism, particularly in human rights and LGBTQ+ issues, having come out as bisexual in 2017. Loreen continues to be a significant figure in the music industry, celebrated for her unique blend of electronic and ethereal pop.
