Lord Kitchener
Aldwyn Roberts, known by his stage name Lord Kitchener, was a celebrated calypso musician hailed as the Grandmaster of Calypso. Born in Arima, east Trinidad, to a blacksmith father and a homemaker mother, he was surrounded by rhythmic sounds from an early age, which influenced his musical career. Lord Kitchener is renowned for his significant contributions to the calypso genre, particularly his strong connection to Mas and the Steelband. He holds records for winning the most Road March titles and producing numerous winning compositions in the Panorama competition. His popular songs include "Dr. Kitch," "London Is The Place For Me," and "Birth of Ghana." His first paying job in music was entertaining water employees as they laid pipes.
