Limahl
Christopher Hamill, known professionally as Limahl, was born on December 19, 1958, in Pemberton, Wigan, Lancashire, England. He rose to fame as the lead singer of the British band Kajagoogoo, which achieved significant success with hits like "Too Shy" in 1983. Limahl's stage name is an anagram of his surname, Hamill. After his departure from Kajagoogoo, partly due to tensions with guitarist Nick Beggs, Limahl embarked on a solo career. His solo work included the UK Top 20 hit "Only For Love" and the globally recognized "The NeverEnding Story," a theme song for the film of the same name produced by Giorgio Moroder. This track became his only entry on the US charts and remains a defining piece of his career.
Despite a decline in commercial success after the mid-1980s, Limahl continued to perform live and appeared in musical theatre. He experienced a resurgence in popularity when his music was featured in popular television shows like "Stranger Things" and "Black Mirror" in 2019. Beyond music, Limahl has also pursued acting, appearing in a London fringe play about climate change. As of recent years, he is actively performing across Europe and working on new music projects. Limahl's enduring presence in the music scene underscores his adaptability and lasting appeal.
