Larry Goldings, born Lawrence Sam Goldings on August 28, 1968, in Boston, Massachusetts, is an acclaimed American jazz pianist, organist, and composer. Known for his signature Hammond organ style, Goldings has made significant contributions to jazz, funk, pop, and electronic/alternative music. His early musical education included classical piano studies until age twelve, influenced by his father, a classical music enthusiast. He later studied with renowned pianists such as Dave McKenna, Ran Blake, and Keith Jarrett, and attended The New School, where he learned from Fred Hersch and Jaki Byard.

Goldings' career features collaborations with a wide array of artists, including Jim Hall, Joshua Redman, Maceo Parker, John Scofield, and James Taylor. He is also recognized for his work with record producers like Russ Titelman and Larry Klein. His debut album, "Intimacy of the Blues," was released in 1991, and he has since led a successful trio with guitarist Peter Bernstein and drummer Bill Stewart. His discography includes ten critically acclaimed albums, with "Trio Beyond" earning a Grammy nomination in 2006.

Goldings' versatility extends to film and television, with his compositions featured in movies such as Clint Eastwood's "Space Cowboys." He participated in the Sundance Institute Documentary Film and Feature Film Composer Fellowship Programs in 2012 and 2013.
