Jon Bon Jovi
John Francis Bongiovi Jr., known professionally as Jon Bon Jovi, was born on March 2, 1962, in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. He is an accomplished American singer, songwriter, guitarist, and actor, best recognized as the founder and frontman of the rock band Bon Jovi, established in 1983. Bon Jovi has released 16 studio albums with his band and two solo albums.
Raised in a Catholic family, Jon attended St. Joseph High School and later transferred to Sayreville War Memorial High School. His early musical endeavors began in 1974 with his first band, Raze. He later formed bands such as Atlantic City Expressway and John Bongiovi and the Wild Ones, and eventually, his original band, the Rest. His cousin, Tony Bongiovi, owned the Power Station recording studio, where Jon worked between gigs.
In addition to his music career, Bon Jovi pursued acting in the 1990s, appearing in films like "Moonlight and Valentino" and "Pay It Forward," as well as TV shows such as "Sex and the City" and "Ally McBeal." He was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2009 and ranked number 50 on Billboard's "Power 100" list in 2012.
Beyond music and acting, Bon Jovi was a founder and former majority owner of the Philadelphia Soul, an Arena Football League team. He is married to Dorothea Hurley, with whom he has four children, including Jake. His extended family includes notable relatives such as his cousin Tony Bongiovi and daughter-in-law Millie Bobby Brown.
