John Weider
John Weider was an English musician born on April 21, 1947, in Shepherd's Bush, London, England. He was a versatile artist known for his proficiency with the guitar, bass, and violin. Weider's early career included playing alongside Steve Marriott in Steve Marriott and the Moments, and he later replaced Mick Green as lead guitarist in Johnny Kidd & the Pirates. In August 1965, he became the first guitarist to replace Eric Clapton in John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, followed by a stint with Jimmy Winston and His Reflections.

Weider gained significant recognition as a member of Eric Burdon & The Animals from 1966 to 1968, contributing to their shift from blues to a more psychedelic sound. He played on albums such as "Winds of Change," "The Twain Shall Meet," and "Love Is." After the Animals, Weider joined the band Family in 1969, replacing Ric Grech as a bassist and violinist, and contributed to albums like "A Song for Me" and "Anyway."

In his later career, Weider was part of the group Stud and pursued a solo career, releasing instrumental albums like "Intervals in Sunlight" in 1988. His musical style evolved over the years, encompassing rock, jazz, and new age genres. John Weider passed away in 2025, leaving behind a diverse and influential musical legacy.
