Jitka Čechová
Jitka Čechová is a distinguished Czech pianist renowned for her focus on the works of Czech composers, particularly Bedřich Smetana, Antonín Dvořák, Leoš Janáček, and Bohuslav Martinů. Born in the Czech Republic, Čechová honed her craft at the Prague Conservatory and the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, studying under notable professors such as Prof. Novotný and Prof. Toperczer. Her education was further enriched through postgraduate studies with Eugen Indjic in Paris and Vitali Berzon in Freiburg, as well as master classes with Rudolf Kehrer, Eugen Indjic, and Lazar Berman.

Čechová has achieved laureate status in several prestigious international competitions, including the International Chopin Competition in Mariánské Lázně and the International Smetana Competition in Hradec Králové. Her performances have garnered critical acclaim across Europe, South Africa, South America, and Japan, collaborating with prominent orchestras like the Prague Symphony Orchestra and the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra.

A passionate chamber musician, Čechová is an integral part of the Smetana Trio, alongside violinist Jan Talich and cellist Jan Páleníček. Her dedication to Smetana's music is evident in her comprehensive recording of his complete piano works for Supraphon, a project celebrated by critics worldwide. Additionally, she has recorded works by Josef Palenicek and is involved in a project to record the complete sonatas of Domenico Scarlatti.

Čechová's influence extends beyond performance; she regularly conducts master classes in cities such as Prague, London, and Los Angeles. Her contributions to music have been recognized with numerous awards, including the BBC Music Magazine Award for her recording with the Smetana Trio.
