Jack Trommer
Jack Trommer, born Giacomo Trommer on October 29, 1905, in Zurich, Switzerland, was a distinguished jazz pianist and composer. He passed away on August 25, 1990, in Russo, Ticino, Switzerland. Trommer began his musical career as a silent film pianist at the Eden cinema in Zurich. He later joined Teddy Stauffer as a pianist and arranger, contributing to the band's film projects and eventually composing film music independently. His most renowned work includes the soundtrack for "Romeo und Julia auf dem Dorfe" (1941), directed by his brother Hans Trommer, as well as music for numerous documentaries by Hans.

Trommer's compositions extended beyond film, including successful chansons, orchestral suites for the Berlin broadcaster RIAS, and the musical "I William Shakespeare," which premiered in Mexico City in 1971. He continued performing as a bar pianist in Zurich, St. Moritz, Ascona, and even in Acapulco at Stauffer's hotel until late in life. His contributions to film music also encompassed works for "’s Margritli und d’Soldate" (1941), "Al canto del cucù" (1941), "Olympische Winterspiele Oslo" (1952), and "Der Handkuss – Ein Märchen."
