Jack Green
Jack Green was a Scottish musician and songwriter, born on March 12, 1951, in Glasgow, Scotland. He passed away on April 18, 2024, at the age of 73. Green's musical career spanned from the 1970s until his death in 2024. He was known for his work as a singer, songwriter, and musician, proficient in vocals, guitar, and bass guitar.
Green was a member of several notable bands throughout his career. He played with T. Rex from 1973 to 1974 and then joined Pretty Things from 1974 to 1976, contributing to the albums "Silk Torpedo" and "Savage Eye." After a brief stint with Rainbow in late 1978, Green embarked on a solo career.
His solo debut album, "Humanesque," was released in 1980 and included the single "This is Japan," which reached number 35 in Australia. The album was particularly successful in Alberta, Canada, where the single "Babe" became a regional hit. Green released several more solo albums, including "Reverse Logic" (1981), "Mystique" (1983), and "Latest Game" (1986).
In the late 1990s, Green joined Mickey Finn's T-Rex, performing with former T. Rex members Mickey Finn and Paul Fenton. Later in life, he resided in Ryde, Isle of Wight, where he taught guitar and owned a budget film production company. In 2020, he released a new album titled "The Party at the End of the World."
