Hermanos Cardozo
Los Hermanos Cardozo, a celebrated chamamé group from Quitilipi, Chaco Province, Argentina, were composed of brothers Gabriel (born July 29, 1943), Emiliano (born November 11, 1944), and Porfirio Cardozo (born March 28, 1954). They were the children of a Paraguayan father and a Corrientes-born mother and received their initial musical training from their uncles, Demetrio and Secundino Cardozo.

Gabriel Cardozo began his professional music career with the bandoneonist Modesto Gómez, forming a duo with Cacho Colman. After Colman's early death, Gabriel brought his brother Emiliano into the fold, thus formally creating the duo "Los Hermanos Cardozo." In 1964, they joined "Los Caballeros del Litoral," led by Esteban Rivero, and later, in 1967, they were invited by Damián Cena to join his group, recording their first works for the Odeón label.

In 1971, the brothers formed their own ensemble, achieving significant success with the release of their 1972 album "Por que juraste volver," which featured the hit chamamé "El puente de la traición." This success earned them a gold record. Throughout the 1970s, they collaborated with renowned musicians and recorded extensively for Music Hall and Polygram, earning gold records with both labels.

In 1985, the group disbanded, with Gabriel and Porfirio forming "Los chaqueñísimos Cardozo" and Emiliano creating "Emiliano Cardozo y su conjunto." Their musical legacy includes notable works such as “Conozca mi Chaco señor” and “Chaco litoral.” Gabriel Cardozo passed away on February 8, 2007, and in 2008, the group was honored at the Festival Provincial de la Artesanía in Quitilipi. The ensemble continues to perform under the leadership of Porfirio Cardozo.
