Henry Brunies
Henry Brunies, also known as Henny Brunies, was a jazz trombonist and composer born in 1891 in New Orleans. He was a member of the musically talented Brunies family, which was prominent in the New Orleans jazz scene. Henry played trombone in the Friars Inn Orchestra and was part of the early wave of musicians who toured California, contributing to the development of a vibrant jazz scene there. His career included recording sessions in Chicago from 1923 to 1926 alongside his brother Merritt Brunies. Despite the fame of his younger brother George Brunies, who was a notable trombonist, Henry was considered by George to be the musical star of the family. Henry Brunies passed away in 1932 in New York.
