Emma Estrina, also known as Emma Zinovyevna Estrina, was a dedicated music educator who devoted 50 years of her life to the N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov Music College. Born in 1938 and passing in 2018, Estrina was a respected teacher of chamber ensemble. Her legacy is celebrated annually with a concert held by her students and their students in the Small Hall of the college on her birthday. Estrina studied under the renowned professor Nathan Yefimovich Perelman, who became her mentor after a chance meeting in the corridors of the Conservatory. Known for his meticulous teaching style, Perelman influenced Estrina's approach to music education, emphasizing precise and slow initial practice of new pieces. Estrina's contributions to the college and her students' success are a testament to her impactful career in music education.
