María Emilia Mernes, known professionally as Emilia, is an Argentine singer, songwriter, model, and actress born on October 29, 1996, in Nogoyá, Entre Ríos, Argentina. Her musical journey began at the age of 12 when her grandfather gifted her a guitar, sparking a passion for music that led her to pursue a career in the industry. Emilia initially studied Literature at the National University of Rosario but soon realized her true calling was music.
In 2016, Emilia gained fame as the lead vocalist of the Uruguayan cumbia pop band Rombai, where she performed until 2018. Her tenure with Rombai was marked by performances across Latin America and several hit singles. After leaving the band to pursue a solo career, she signed with Sony Music Latin and WK Entertainment, releasing her debut single "Recalienta" in 2019. Her solo career quickly flourished, with hits like "No Soy Yo" featuring Darell and collaborations with artists such as Duki and Tini.
