Eduardo Di Capua
Eduardo di Capua (May 12, 1865 – October 3, 1917) was an Italian composer, singer, and songwriter born in Naples, Italy. He is most renowned for composing the famous Neapolitan song "'O Sole Mio," which he co-wrote with poet Giovanni Capurro during a trip to Odessa, Russia. The song has been widely recorded by numerous artists in both its original Neapolitan and in English adaptations. Di Capua also composed "Marie, Ah Marie" ("O Marie" in English), another popular Neapolitan song. He studied music at the Conservatorio di Musica San Pietro a Majella in Naples. Throughout his career, his works were published in the music magazine La Tavola Rotonda. Eduardo di Capua passed away in Naples in 1917.
