Denes von Buday
Dénes von Buday, born on October 8, 1890, in Budapest, Hungary, was a prominent Hungarian composer and pianist. He studied at the Academy of Music, now known as the Franz Liszt Academy of Music, under the tutelage of Hans von Koessler. Buday was active in the music industry from 1910 to 1956 and was renowned for composing operas, operettas, and film scores. His only opera, "Loreley," premiered in Vienna in 1919. He was prolific in operettas and musical comedies, with works such as "Fogadjuk!" (1916) and "Meztelen lány" (1946). Buday also contributed significantly to film music between 1930 and 1950, composing for films like "Zenélö malom" (1943) and "Premiere" (1937). He was married to Erzsébet Kovács and Ida Horváth. Dénes von Buday passed away on October 19, 1963, in Budapest.
