Coquimarola
Mario del Tránsito Cocomarola, known artistically as "Coquimarola," was born on December 28, 1946, in Rosario, Santa Fe, Argentina. He spent his childhood in Corrientes, where he was raised in the musical environment of his father, the renowned "Taita del Chamamé." Coquimarola began his musical journey playing a two-row accordion, a gift from Roque Librado González, with whom he recorded his first works.

In 1963, Coquimarola launched his musical career leading his own ensemble, which initially included bandoneonist Avelino Flores, later replaced by Toté Esquivel and then Bruno Mendoza. The group also featured vocalists and guitarists such as Carlos Ramírez, Pablo Oviedo, Cacho Espíndola, and Carlos Melián. The ensemble won a song contest at the Teatro Oficial Juan de Vera in Corrientes.

In the early 1970s, Coquimarola signed an exclusive contract with the Music Hall label, where he remained for over 15 years, performing extensively across the Litoral region and Buenos Aires. His ensemble included artists such as Juan Carlos Vega, Pablo Maidana, Lidio Reyes, and others. From the mid-1980s, the group featured De los Santos Rodríguez and Roberto Rivero on vocals and guitars, and Jorge de la Cruz Balmaceda on bandoneon.

Coquimarola is a prolific composer with over 100 works, including "Establecimiento La Esmeralda," "Te quiero chamamé," and "Coquimaroleando." He has toured throughout Argentina and neighboring countries. In 2011, he was honored at the Centro Cultural de Campo Grande in Brazil and invited to inaugurate the "Casa do chamamé."

Currently residing in Corrientes, Coquimarola continues his successful career, contributing significantly to the chamamé genre.
