Chuck Loeb
Chuck Loeb, born on December 7, 1955, was a Grammy-nominated guitarist, composer, and producer whose career spanned over four decades. Known as a "renaissance man" in the music world, Loeb was a #1 jazz recording artist, composer of over 250 published songs, and a producer for over thirty renowned artists. He was also an in-demand clinician and educator. Loeb released his eighteenth solo CD, "Silhouette," in 2013, solidifying his status as one of the most sought-after artists globally with a distinct sound. He was a member of the premier jazz group Fourplay and the fusion band Metro.

Hailing from Nyack, NY, Loeb studied guitar, composition, and arranging at Berklee College of Music. His musical journey was significantly influenced by Stan Getz, who offered him his first big break. Loeb joined Getz's band in 1979, touring and recording with him for several years. In 1984, he joined Steps Ahead, featuring Michael Brecker, whom Loeb considered his greatest inspiration. Loeb's extensive studio work spanned jazz, pop, rock, Broadway, classical, and folk music, embodying his belief in the inclusion of all music genres in a musician's repertoire. This philosophy was central to his educational work, including his "String Training" seminars.

Dubbed "The Clark Kent of jazz guitar" by the NY Times for his understated style, Loeb collaborated with numerous jazz, pop, rock, and classical greats, including Hubert Laws, Chico Hamilton, Freddie Hubbard, and Wayne Shorter. He also worked with Bob James, Michael Franks, Carly Simon, and Bob Dylan, among others. His album "Silhouette" featured an all-star lineup and introduced new talents, showcasing his original compositions and collaborations with family members, including his wife Carmen Cuesta and daughter Lizzy.
