Eddie Ortiz & Son Caribe, known for their vibrant Latin rhythms, have established themselves as a premier live Latin music band in Hawaii. Frequently selected as the best live music act in Honolulu by Honolulu Magazine, they have become the band of choice for major Latin music events in the region since 2000. The band has headlined at the prestigious Blue Note in Waikiki and has performed internationally in the Far East, including tours in Japan, Korea, and the Philippines.

Son Caribe's music has been featured on K5 TV's summer series, Heineken's Hot Hawaiian Nights, and they have been recognized repeatedly in Honolulu Magazine's Music Issue as one of Hawaii's top live bands. Their CD "Salsa From Hawaii II" achieved the status of a #1 best-seller in Hawaii and received Grammy Award consideration for the 2004 Best Salsa/Merengue Album.

The band has opened for Grammy-winning artists like Celia Cruz and Poncho Sanchez and has collaborated with numerous Latin music legends such as Ismael Miranda, Tito Puente Jr., and Frankie Morales.
