Bruno Martino (11 November 1925 – 12 June 2000) was an influential Italian composer, singer, and pianist renowned for his contributions to jazz and pop music. Born in Rome, Italy, Martino developed a passion for jazz and began playing the piano at the age of fourteen. His early career involved performing with European radio and nightclub orchestras, and by the mid-1950s, he was a member of the RAI orchestra.

Martino transitioned into composing music for popular Italian singers and eventually toured the world with his own orchestra, which led to a successful singing career. He is best remembered for his 1960 song "Estate," which became a jazz standard covered by notable artists such as João Gilberto, Chet Baker, and Shirley Horn, among others. Another of his famous compositions, "Dracula Cha Cha Cha," was originally created for the film "Tempi duri per i vampiri" in 1959 and gained international recognition, inspiring other artists and even the title of Kim Newman's novel "Dracula Cha Cha Cha."

Throughout his career, Martino released several albums, including "I grandi successi di Bruno Martino" (1959), "Nuovi successi" (1960), and "Bruno Martino con orchestra" (1964). His work remains a significant part of the Italian jazz and pop music landscape. Bruno Martino passed away in Rome at the age of 74, leaving behind a legacy of timeless music.
