Larissa Bretscher is a Swiss soprano born in Switzerland. She pursued her studies under Professor Jane Thorner-Mengedoth at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste, graduating with honors in 2015. Further refining her craft, Bretscher attended master-classes with notable figures such as Margreet Honig, Klesie Kelly, Jill Feldmann, and Sarah Maria Sun, and received additional guidance from Barbara Böhi, Roswitha Müller, and Raymond Connell.

Bretscher is active in the performance of chamber music, church concerts, and Lieder recitals, having appeared at venues like the LAC in Lugano and the Tonhalle Zurich. She participated in the Zürcher Festspiele, performing in "Heinrich Treibhäuser" and in the opera "Der Geizhals" by Mayr at the Music Musik Theater Arosa. Known for her interpretations of contemporary works, she collaborates with composers such as Toshio Hosokawa and Carola Bauckholt, and conductor Jonathan Stockhammer.

Her artistic endeavors extend to interdisciplinary projects, seeking new forms by blending diverse musical genres. She performs in the duo carouge with pianist Lena Schmidt, combining classical songs with chansons in cabaret settings. Additionally, Bretscher is a member of the pop band Marylane, with which she has released two albums under Sophie Records and TOURBO Music.

As a dedicated ensemble member, she sings with the Davos Festival Kammerchor, Novello Ensemble, and the Chor der J.S. Bach-Stiftung St. Gallen, directed by Rudolf Lutz since 2019. Bretscher also contributes to the education of future musicians through her teaching at a music studio in Zürich. Her talent was recognized in 2018 when she won third place in the Stiftung Elvirissima at the Landesweiten Wettbewerb für Junge Stimmen.
