Bob Carroll
Robert Carroll (June 8, 1918 – November 12, 1994), known professionally as Bob Carroll, was an American big band singer and stage, film, and television actor. Born Mark Kaufman in New York, NY, he was the son of a piano salesman and attended high school in Brooklyn. Carroll's career as a singer was briefly interrupted by his service in the U.S. Army during World War II. After the war, he joined Jimmy Dorsey's orchestra and also sang with other notable orchestras, including those led by Charlie Barnet, Glenn Miller, and Gordon Jenkins. In 1951, he recorded the hit "Charmaine" with Jenkins and was featured on the soundtrack of the film The Prowler singing "Baby." His rendition of "Butterfly" charted at No. 61 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1957.

In the mid-1960s, Carroll hosted and sang on the WGN-TV musical program All Time Hits in Chicago. He transitioned to acting during the 1960s, appearing in soap operas and prime-time series. Carroll's stage credits include roles in touring productions of Fiddler on the Roof, Fiorello!, La Cage aux Folles, Guys and Dolls, The Pajama Game, and Say, Darling. He passed away at the age of 76 in Port Washington, New York.
