Bernard Maseli
Bernard Maseli, born on August 19, 1965, in Strzelce Opolskie, is a distinguished Polish musician renowned for his expertise as a vibraphonist, composer, teacher, and music producer. A virtuoso of the KAT instrument, he graduated from the Faculty of Jazz and Popular Music at the Academy of Music in Katowice, where he later served as a lecturer. Maseli has been a member of the jazz fusion group Walk Away since 1985 and founded the group The Globetrotters. His music uniquely blends jazz, ethnic elements, and electronic sounds, characterized by exciting improvisations and advanced vibraphone techniques.
Maseli's career is marked by collaborations with prominent artists such as Urszula Dudziak, Anna Maria Jopek, and international jazz figures like Mike Stern and Eric Marienthal. He has been consistently recognized in the "Jazz Forum" polls, often securing the top spot in the vibraphone category. His discography includes significant works with Walk Away and other ensembles, contributing to over 10 albums and numerous performances at festivals worldwide. In 2017, he was awarded the title of Professor of Musical Arts by the President of Poland, underscoring his influence and contributions to the music industry.
