Benny Andersson
Göran Bror Benny Andersson, born on December 16, 1946, in Stockholm, Sweden, is a renowned musician, composer, and producer. He is most famously known as a member of the iconic pop group ABBA and for co-composing musicals such as "Chess," "Kristina från Duvemåla," and "Mamma Mia!" His early exposure to music came from his father and grandfather, who were both accordion players. Benny received his own accordion at the age of six and later taught himself to play the piano.

Andersson's music career began in earnest when he joined the Hep Stars in 1964, a popular Swedish pop group of the 1960s. As the band's keyboardist and a key songwriter, he contributed to hits like "No Response" and "Sunny Girl." In 1966, he met Björn Ulvaeus, marking the beginning of a prolific songwriting partnership. This collaboration eventually led to the formation of ABBA, alongside Anni-Frid Lyngstad and Agnetha Fältskog. ABBA achieved international stardom, winning the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974 with "Waterloo" and becoming one of the best-selling music acts in history.

After ABBA disbanded in 1982, Andersson continued to find success in musical theater and film, notably working on the "Mamma Mia!" film adaptations as an executive producer. Since 2001, he has also been active with his band, Benny Anderssons Orkester. Benny Andersson's contributions to music have been recognized with various awards, and he was appointed a Professor by the Swedish government in 2002.
