Backstreet Boys
The Backstreet Boys, an iconic American vocal group, were formed in 1993 in Orlando, Florida. The group consists of members AJ McLean, Howie Dorough, Nick Carter, and cousins Brian Littrell and Kevin Richardson. They achieved significant fame with their debut album "Backstreet Boys" in 1996, which was followed by "Backstreet's Back" in 1997, solidifying their global success. Their third studio album, "Millennium" (1999), included the hit single "I Want It That Way" and propelled them to superstardom. They continued their success with "Black & Blue" in 2000 and a greatest hits album in 2001.
After a brief hiatus, they released "Never Gone" in 2005, but Kevin Richardson left the group in 2006. The remaining members released two albums as a quartet before Richardson rejoined in 2012. The group celebrated their 20th anniversary in 2013 with the release of "In a World Like This" and continued to achieve success with "DNA" in 2019, which debuted at number one on the U.S. charts. In 2022, they released their first Christmas album, "A Very Backstreet Christmas," and celebrated their 30th anniversary in 2023. In 2025, they released "Millennium 2.0," a remastered version of their hit album "Millennium."
The Backstreet Boys have sold over 130 million records worldwide, making them one of the best-selling music artists of all time. They are notable for being the first group since Led Zeppelin to have their first ten albums reach the top 10 on the Billboard 200. They were honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2013. The group has also embarked on successful tours and residencies, including a Las Vegas residency and their "Into the Millennium" residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas.
