Artie Dunn
Artie Dunn, born Arnold Levine on September 23, 1907, in Dorchester, Boston, Massachusetts, was an American vocalist, composer, violinist, organist, and guitarist. He was part of the vaudeville team Reis & Dunn in the 1920s and 1930s. In the late 1930s, he co-founded the pop group The Three Suns with his cousins Al Nevins and Morty Nevins. Artie Dunn contributed vocals and played the electronic organ for the group, which became a popular nightclub attraction in New York and scored several hit records in the 1940s, including "Twilight Time" and "Peg o' My Heart." Despite not being able to read music, Dunn was a key member of the group, which was known for its innovative musical effects and arrangements. Artie Dunn passed away in October 1984.
