Angel Robledo Y Su Son Del Centro
Ángel Robledo, born in Tijuana, Baja California Norte in 1963, is a distinguished figure in Afro Latin music in Mexico. He relocated to Mexico City in 1960 and began his musical career in 1983 with a debut at the California Dancing Club. Robledo has collaborated with renowned orchestras, including those of Gamboa Ceballos, Melón, Tony Camargo, and the legendary Conjunto Batachá. His own orchestra, Son del Centro, has performed alongside significant groups like Enrique Jorrin, Irakere, and Pepe Arevalo. Robledo's influence extends across Mexico, where he is celebrated as a passionate interpreter of Latin genres. His discography includes the 1998 album "La Leyenda Del Son," showcasing styles such as Bolero, Charanga, Sonero, Cubano, and Son Montuno. The album features contributions from musicians like Luis Castro on electric bass and backing vocals, Saúl Sham on flute, and David Antonio Peregrino "El Negro" on percussion.
