Andrews
Michael Andrews, also known by his moniker Elgin Park, is an American multi-instrumental musician, producer, and film score composer born on November 17, 1967, in San Diego, California. Andrews is renowned for his work in film scoring, particularly for his cover of the Tears for Fears song "Mad World," featuring Gary Jules, which became the 2003 UK Christmas number one hit. This track was part of the soundtrack for the film "Donnie Darko," a project that significantly boosted his career in film composition.

Andrews began his musical journey as a founding member of the San Diego soul-jazz band The Greyboy Allstars. His transition into film scoring occurred serendipitously in 1998 when the band was asked to score Jake Kasdan's feature "Zero Effect." This opportunity led to further work, including composing for the TV series "Freaks and Geeks" and the film "Donnie Darko," which solidified his reputation as a composer to watch.

His filmography includes scores for "Out Cold," "Nothing," "Cypher," "Orange County," "My Suicidal Sweetheart," "Me and You and Everyone We Know," "The TV Set," "Paris, je t'aime," "Unaccompanied Minors," "Bridesmaids," "Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story," and "Daddy's Home," among others. Andrews's work on "Me and You and Everyone We Know" was well-received, with the score released in 2005 under Everloving Records.

Throughout his career, Andrews has been associated with various music labels, including Avace and Ever Loving, and has showcased his versatility by playing multiple instruments such as guitar, piano, keyboards, bass guitar, marimba, and drums. His contributions to the music industry span from 1985 to the present, establishing him as a significant figure in film score composition and experimental music genres.
