Andras Sturcz
András Sturcz is a renowned Hungarian cellist known for his extensive contributions to both classical and contemporary music. Born into a family of educators, Sturcz chose his own path in music, gravitating towards the cello during a school instrument demonstration. He pursued formal education under the tutelage of Szilvásy László at the conservatory and later studied with Lengyel Endre, earning diplomas in chamber music and cello teaching.

Sturcz has been a prominent figure in the Budapest Operetta Theatre's orchestra for over 30 years and is the leader of the Sturcz Quartet and the Sturcz Szmollbend. His career includes collaborations with notable artists such as Al Di Meola, Ian Anderson, and Jethro Tull, contributing his cello expertise to various albums and performances. He has also been involved in the Hungarian Cello Orchestra and has a diverse discography that spans different genres, including pop, rock, and classical music.

In addition to his musical endeavors, Sturcz has worked as a freelance musician and briefly as a sales representative before fully dedicating himself to his musical career. His commitment to the cello remains unwavering, and he continues to perform and lead musical projects, enriching the cultural landscape with his artistry.
