Alicia Bridges, born on July 15, 1953, in Lawndale, North Carolina, is an American singer and songwriter renowned for her international disco hit "I Love the Nightlife (Disco 'Round)" released in 1978. Raised in a musical environment, Bridges began singing at a young age and hosted her own radio show at 12. She performed in local clubs from the age of 13, gaining early experience in a variety of musical genres.

In 1977, Bridges signed with Polydor Records, and her debut album, "Alicia Bridges," produced by Steve Buckingham, featured the hit single "I Love the Nightlife." The song became a crossover success, reaching number five on the Billboard Hot 100 and charting internationally, including in the UK, Germany, and Japan. It was a Grammy-nominated track and became a staple in the gay community.

Bridges continued to release music, including her second album "Play It As It Lays" in 1979, but none matched the success of her debut. After a brief return to recording in 1984, she transitioned to a career as a DJ, notably at The Otherside Lounge in Atlanta, Georgia. In 2006, she released a remixed compilation titled "This Girl Don't Care," dedicated to her support of the LGBTQ+ community.
