Alexander Jenner, an Austrian pianist born on April 4, 1929, in Vienna, Austria, is renowned for his contributions to classical music. He embarked on his musical education at the "Musikakademie" in Vienna in 1945, studying under esteemed instructors such as Paul Weingarten, Bruno Seidlhofer, and Richard Hauser for nearly a decade. Jenner's talent was recognized early on when he won the "Bösendorfer-Preisflügel" in 1949, awarded to the top graduating student from the Vienna State Academy of Music.

Jenner's career was marked by significant achievements, including winning first prize at the Rio de Janeiro Contest for Pianists in 1957, where he outperformed notable competitors like Augustin Anievas, Michael Voskresensky, and Nelson Freire. He was also the first Austrian pianist to perform Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue" and "Concerto in F" in 1951, and he premiered Stravinsky's "Petrouchka for Piano Solo" and the 12-tone compositions of Hanns Jelinek.

Throughout his career, Jenner recorded extensively, with releases including works by Beethoven, Chopin, and Liszt. Notable recordings include Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata" and Chopin's "Etudes Opus 25." He collaborated with various orchestras, such as the Orchestra of the Vienna State Opera and the Orchester Der Wiener Konzert-Vereinigung.

In 1969, Jenner became a professor at the "Wiener Musikhochschule," further solidifying his influence in the world of classical music. His legacy includes a rich discography and a significant impact on the interpretation of modern music.
