Alan Earle O'Day (October 3, 1940 – May 17, 2013) was an American pop rock singer-songwriter from Hollywood, California. He gained fame for his million-selling Gold-certified No. 1 hit "Undercover Angel" in 1977. O'Day was also a prolific songwriter for other artists, penning hits like Helen Reddy's No. 1 "Angie Baby" and the Righteous Brothers' No. 3 Gold hit "Rock and Roll Heaven." In the 1980s, he transitioned to television, co-writing nearly 100 songs for the Muppet Babies series. He also contributed to the National Geographic series Really Wild Animals in the 1990s. Additionally, O'Day collaborated with Japanese artist Tatsuro Yamashita on several popular songs. His career spanned from 1958 until his death in 2013, leaving a lasting impact on both the music and television industries.
