Delroy Wilson
Delroy Wilson, a pioneering reggae singer, began his recording career at the young age of 13. He significantly contributed to the reggae music scene and was honored by the Jamaican government in 1994 with a special plaque recognizing his enduring legacy to Jamaican music. Despite facing personal challenges, including issues related to alcohol abuse, Wilson continued to record sporadically in the early 1990s. Unfortunately, he fell into a coma and passed away on March 6, 1995, in Jamaica at the age of 46 due to complications from cirrhosis of the liver. His music, including popular songs like "Better Must Come," "I'm Still Waiting," and "Cool Operator," remains influential in the reggae genre.
