Thomas Chisholm
Thomas O. Chisholm, also known as Thomas Obediah Chisholm, was born in Franklin, Kentucky, in 1866. During his early years, he lived on a farm and worked as a teacher in district schools. Chisholm spent five years as the editor of a local newspaper in Franklin. At the age of 26, he converted to Christianity, which significantly influenced his career path. He became the business manager and office editor of the "Pentecostal Herald" in Louisville, Kentucky. In 1903, Chisholm entered the ministry of the Methodist Episcopal Church South. His writing was characterized by a focus on incorporating scripture and avoiding frivolous or overly sentimental themes. Among his most popular works is the hymn "Great Is Thy Faithfulness," which has been performed by various artists, including Chris Rice, The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, and Carrie Underwood.
