Jason Derulo
Jason Joel Desrouleaux, known professionally as Jason Derulo, was born on September 21, 1989, in Miramar, Florida, to Haitian parents. His early exposure to music began with singing at a young age and writing his first song at eight. Derulo attended performing arts schools in Florida, honing his skills in music composition. His songwriting talents gained recognition during his teenage years, leading him to write for artists like Birdman, Diddy, and Lil Wayne.

Derulo's solo career took off in 2009 with the release of his debut single "Whatcha Say," which sold over five million digital downloads and topped the US Billboard Hot 100. His self-titled debut album in 2010 included hits like "In My Head" and "Ridin' Solo." His second album, Future History (2011), featured the UK number-one single "Don't Wanna Go Home." The third album, Tattoos (2013), rebranded in the US as Talk Dirty (2014), produced global hits such as "Talk Dirty" and "Wiggle."

In 2015, Derulo released his fourth studio album, Everything Is 4, with the lead single "Want to Want Me" reaching top ten in the US and number one in the UK. His 2020 collaboration with Jawsh 685, "Savage Love (Laxed – Siren Beat)," topped charts worldwide and became his second US Billboard Hot 100 number one after a remix with BTS. Derulo parted ways with Warner Music Group and signed with Atlantic Records in 2021. His fifth studio album, Nu King, was released in 2024, featuring previous singles like "Swalla" and "Take You Dancing."

Derulo's career is marked by his success in pop, R&B, and EDM genres, selling over 250 million singles worldwide and achieving fourteen platinum singles in the US.
