Radio Symphony Orchestra Ljubljana
The Radio Symphony Orchestra Ljubljana, known today as the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra, was founded in 1955 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Initially established as the Ljubljana Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra, it was led by violin virtuoso and composer Uroš Prevoršek. The orchestra's early musicians were primarily students from local secondary music schools and the Academy of Music.

In 1966, Samo Hubad took over leadership, significantly enhancing the orchestra's performance quality and expanding its repertoire to include 20th-century works and lighter music genres. The orchestra saw further leadership changes with Stanislav Macura in 1980 and Anton Nanut in 1981, during which time it gained international recognition, particularly in the USA in 1984 and 1985.

The orchestra's name changed to Simfonični Orkester RTV Slovenija following the renaming of the national Radio and TV Station from RTV Ljubljana to RTV Slovenija in 1990. It has been led by several chief conductors over the years, including Lior Shambadal in 2000, David de Villiers in 2003, and En Shao in 2006. Currently, the chief conductor is Bulgarian-American Rossen Milanov.

The RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra is known for its diverse repertoire, ranging from baroque to modern symphonic music, and has engaged in notable crossover projects with bands like Siddharta and Terrafolk. It has also performed with renowned artists such as pianist Ivo Pogorelić and flautist Irena Grafenauer. The orchestra continues to contribute to the cultural landscape with its concert records and performances.
