Inez James
Inez James (November 15, 1919 – December 19, 1993), also known as Inez James Walden, was an American composer primarily known for her work in the motion picture industry. She gained recognition as one of the three writers of the song "Vaya Con Dios," which has been recorded over 500 times. Her career in film began in 1943, with credits for composing songs for movies such as "Mister Big," "When Johnny Comes Marching Home," and "Moonlight in Vermont," among others. Over the years, she contributed to the music of 19 more films, including the notable "Pillow Talk" in 1959, starring Rock Hudson and Doris Day, and "Portrait in Black" in 1960, featuring Lana Turner and Anthony Quinn. She co-wrote the title song for "Pillow Talk," performed by Doris Day, and the film's score was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Dramatic or Comedy Score in 1959. Inez James passed away in Sherman Oaks, California, on December 19, 1993.
