Rolf Soja
Rolf Soja was a distinguished German composer, songwriter, producer, and arranger, born on April 23, 1947, in Soest, Germany. He was renowned for his collaboration with the Spanish duo Baccara, co-writing their iconic hit "Yes Sir, I Can Boogie," which became a chart-topping success across Europe. Soja's work with Baccara, alongside Frank Dostal, led to numerous chart successes. He also composed for other notable artists such as Nana Mouskouri, Mireille Mathieu, and Hildegard Knef.

Soja's talents extended to film music, and he participated in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1978 and 1986, as well as the Yamaha World Popular Song Festival in 1977. In 1982, he moved to Canada, where he continued his music career while residing in Muskoka. He reunited with Baccara's lead singer Mayte Mateos in 2008 for a new album project.

Rolf Soja passed away on October 9, 2018, in Muskoka Lakes, Canada, leaving behind a legacy of influential music and a family who cherished him. His work continues to be celebrated, with "Yes Sir, I Can Boogie" being covered by numerous artists worldwide.
