Alan Rankin Jones
Alan Rankin Jones was an American jazz pianist, composer, and lyricist born in 1902 and passed away in 1945. He is best known for his composition "Easy Street," which he wrote in 1940. This jazz standard was first recorded by Jimmy Lunceford and his Orchestra. In addition to his work on "Easy Street," Jones collaborated with Lou Springer in 1944 to compose melodies for "Don’t Go Away Any More, Elinore" and "Make the Two of Us One," with lyrics by Tom McKee. Throughout his career, Jones contributed significantly to the jazz genre as a composer and lyricist, leaving a lasting impact with his memorable compositions.
