Ferdinand Washington
Ferdinand Washington, also known as 'Fats' Washington, was a prominent American blues and rhythm and blues songwriter. Born on June 20, 1927, in Louisiana, he gained recognition for his collaborations with legendary artists B.B. King and Lowell Fulson. Washington's songwriting prowess is evident in his contributions to numerous albums and singles, particularly the song "Pledging My Love," which was covered by various artists including Johnny Ace, Teresa Brewer, and Pat Boone. His work extended into production and arrangement, leaving a significant mark on the music industry. Washington passed away on October 23, 1970, in Dallas, Texas.
