Larry Wilson
Larry Jon Wilson was an American country singer, guitarist, and musician, born on October 7, 1940, in Swainsboro, Georgia, and later originating from Augusta, Georgia. He passed away on June 21, 2010, in Roanoke, Virginia, at the age of 69. Wilson was active in the music industry primarily between 1975 and 2010, known for his deep voice and guitar skills. He released his debut album, "New Beginnings," in 1975, followed by three more albums with Monument Records: "Let Me Sing My Song to You" (1976), "Loose Change" (1977), and "The Sojourner" (1979). Despite critical acclaim, he did not achieve commercial success and left the music industry in 1980. He returned to performing in the late 1980s and released a self-titled album in 2008 after a long hiatus. Wilson was featured in the documentary "Heartworn Highways," and his music, characterized by a blend of country and soulful influences, remains influential among artists.
