Eugene B. Wilson
Eugene Burnett "Happy" Wilson, born on June 29, 1919, in Winston County, Alabama, was a prominent figure in the American country music scene. Known professionally as Happy Wilson, he gained popularity as a radio personality and musician. He led the band "Happy Wilson and the Golden River Boys," which was a staple on Alabama's WAPI radio. Wilson's career in music began at the young age of 15, and he became a well-known disk jockey and bandleader.

Wilson's discography includes recordings with Decca Records and M-G-M Records, featuring songs such as "Go Down to the Graveyard" and "The Haunted House Boogie." He was also a talented songwriter, contributing to hits like "Sleepin’ at the Foot of the Bed," performed by "Little" Jimmy Dickens.

Wilson's influence extended beyond his performances; he played a significant role in the careers of other artists, including his wife Marion Worth, whom he helped secure a Columbia recording contract. The couple eventually moved to Nashville, where Wilson managed a large music company and briefly oversaw Capitol Record operations.

Happy Wilson passed away on August 24, 1977, in Nashville, Tennessee, leaving behind a legacy in country music as a performer, songwriter, and influential figure in the industry.
