Dedette Lee Hill
Dedette Lee Hill, born on November 2, 1900, in Lynchburg, Virginia, was an American lyricist known for her contributions to jazz and popular music. She was married to Billy Hill, a prominent figure in Tin Pan Alley. Dedette co-wrote the song "Old Folks" in 1938 with composer Willard Robison, a piece that became a jazz standard performed by artists such as Chris Connor and Ernestine Anderson. She also collaborated with Johnny Marks and Carmen Lombardo on songs like "Address Unknown" and "Who Calls?". Dedette passed away on June 5, 1950, in Hollywood, California.
